Build a habit of checking burn rate at 25%, 50%, and 75% of the way through a project. Not at the end, when it is too late to fix anything.

The real payoff of team time data is in future quoting. When you finish a project and debrief, pull the full time log, compare it to your original estimate, and document where the gaps were.

Was it always a specific phase? A specific type of client feedback? A certain deliverable that always takes longer than scoped?

That information goes into a running reference file. Next time you quote a similar project, you are not guessing. You are adjusting based on what your own data showed you.

Teams that do this consistently quote more accurately over time. They take on fewer losing projects. And they have a much clearer answer when a client asks why the price is what it is.
